Due to being a part of many various instructional classroom settings, I have gathered up several
pieces of writing that demonstrate not only a versatile side of me, but critical learning that I experienced. I have learned
how to think critically, research intently, the art of conducting an interview, as well gain analytical skills. How all these
endeavors will aid me down the road in a workplace setting is all these forms of writing have taught me how to think outside
the box. When it comes to employers, new ways of thinking need to be applied to the job in many different ways. Below are
listed several writings that I have accomplished while attending Old Dominion University.
For this assignment, I had to think of a critical issue here in the United States and examine it
for possible cures. As with all companies, problems will arise and new ways of thinking will have to occur.
Health Insurance in America
For this assignment, I had to think of an issue which is happening locally and research the problem.
Along with the research, I had to go out and conduct interviews with various people who had information about my chosen
topic. Being able to not only research something but also to go out and personally find information from others is a useful
skill to have knowledge about.
Illiteracy in Bristol, Virginia
For this assignment, I had to plan an event for between 500-2000 for a non-profit organization.
Because I had to be in charge of all aspects of this event from the hired help, security, vendors, planning a budget, etc.,
this learning experience has been good for teaching me how to plan effectively.

To work as group is a very intricate endeavor to undertake, but take into consideration that all
the group members are spread out in various different places. To be successful at this task, there has to be solid groundwork
laid for each group member to follow. There has to be constant contact and a willingness by each group member to make
this succeed. Everyone must know their role, the task in the project they are doing, and the ability to make it all come together
by a specific date. I believe this assignment gave me important skills in trying to work with a group. Because companies are
often widespread across the USA as around the world, it is imperative that somebody be able to function within a group type
project.
